Presentation 教学材料:从准备、展示到 Production Log 记录
Presentation 不是把论文读一遍。它是学生向 non-specialist audience 清楚解释项目过程、研究发现、最终判断和个人反思的机会,同时通过 live Q&A 证明真实性、理解深度和独立研究能力。
一、考试局要求:Presentation 必须完成什么
展示对象应包括非专业听众,内容要让没有专业背景的人也能理解。官方指导建议至少两位 impartial adults,其中一位必须是 supervisor。
展示不仅要讲结论,还要讲项目过程:选题、计划、资料筛选、变化、挑战、最终判断。
Production Log 需要记录 presentation 的准备、格式、内容、修改,以及 supervisor 对 delivery 和 Q&A 的记录。
二、Presentation 应该什么时候做?
Final product 基本完成后
学生应该先完成主要报告或 artefact report,再准备 presentation。因为 presentation 需要总结最终研究发现和最终判断。
Project Product Review 之后
先根据 supervisor 对最终产品的建议修改,再决定 presentation 重点。不要用旧 title、旧 outline 或已经被删掉的论点做展示。
正式展示前至少一次 rehearsal
彩排不是为了背稿,而是检查时间、结构、非专业听众是否听得懂、slides 是否过密、Q&A 是否能回答。
展示后立刻完成记录
学生完成自己的 Presentation Record Part A,supervisor 完成 Part B,特别是 audience、presentation delivery、Q&A examples 和 student responses。
三、10 分钟 Presentation 建议结构

四、Production Log Part A:学生应该怎么填写
学生的 Part A 应该提前规划 presentation,并记录 rehearsal 后做出的修改。不要等展示结束后只写一句 “I used PowerPoint”。

五、Supervisor Part B:老师需要记录什么
记录听众性质和人数,例如 supervisor、staff、non-specialist adults。要说明这不是只对自己讲。
记录形式,例如 PowerPoint、poster、viva、marketplace 或 online presentation,以及是否使用 visual aids。
记录 clarity、structure、pace、engagement、是否面向 non-specialist audience、是否能解释复杂内容。
记录至少若干具体问题和学生回答。问题应针对学生项目,不能所有学生使用同一套固定问题。
六、Q&A:学生如何准备,但不能背固定答案
Q&A 应该是 spontaneous 和 project-specific。学生可以准备方向,但不应该只背模板答案。

七、模拟学生示例:DWPT / Coil Misalignment 项目
Presentation format
I will give a 10 minute PowerPoint presentation to a non-specialist audience including my supervisor and two teachers who do not specialise in electrical engineering. I will use simple diagrams to explain dynamic wireless power transfer and coil misalignment, because the topic contains technical vocabulary that may be difficult for a general audience. I will use limited notes rather than reading a script, so that I can explain the project clearly and respond naturally to questions.
Planned content
My presentation will begin with my final research question: “To what extent does coil misalignment affect the power transfer efficiency of dynamic wireless power transfer systems for electric vehicles?” I will briefly explain why EV charging and DWPT are important, then explain how my project developed from a broad interest in wireless charging into a focused investigation of misalignment and efficiency. I will show how I selected sources, why some sources were only background, and why I used studies with clearer test conditions as core evidence.
In the main section, I will present three findings: first, misalignment reduces magnetic coupling and therefore lowers efficiency; second, real-world road conditions make misalignment difficult to control; third, engineering solutions such as improved coil design and control systems can reduce the problem but may increase cost and complexity. My conclusion will be that coil misalignment has a major effect on DWPT efficiency and commercial feasibility, so DWPT is more realistic first in controlled routes such as bus lanes or logistics areas.
Modifications after rehearsal
After rehearsal, I shortened the technical explanation of coil design because it was too detailed for non-specialist listeners. I replaced one text-heavy slide with a diagram showing aligned and misaligned coils, and I moved my limitations slide before the final conclusion so the judgement sounded more balanced. I also prepared to answer questions about source reliability, why I did not conduct an experiment, and how my final title changed after the mid-project review.
